Green Tea Hearts

Light liquoring cup is deliciously vegetative highlighting early season green tea. Mild astringent finish. Use 1 heart for each 8-10 oz. serving.

pkg. 6  $6.00

Many centuries ago, when the overland voyage from China to Russia took weeks and months along treacherous mountain trails, tea bricks found favor with traders who used them as currency. Owing to their density, (they are called bricks after all), tea bricks could easily survive the arduous voyage, retaining their value along the caravan trail.

To make them, green and black teas are steamed and compressed using a hydraulic press, designed to leave a stylized imprint on the brick. And while they are no longer worth their weight in gold, they hold undeniable value as a gift for special occasions or for brewing and drinking on any occasion. Broaden your offering with these truly artistic wonders of the tea world.

While most of our customers like tea bricks for their aesthetic qualities, these can also be broken apart and brewed. These tea bricks make a unique gift and a great conversation starter if placed in an upright plate holder.

Tasting notes: Full bodied with slight must notes.

Highly compressed green tea in brick form makes an excellent sales piece. Customers can't help but ask about them! Can also be brewed by breaking off a chunk, grinding it up, and brewing as any other loose leaf tea.

Tasting notes: Mild green tea character. Lightly vegetative with a smooth finish.

TEA HEARTS

Like love itself, the tradition of pressing teas into various forms and shapes is almost as old as time. As far back as the early Song Dynasty (960 – 1279 BC), sculptors and artisans began working with tea the way others worked with clay or textiles to form and mold delicate works of art.

These tea hearts represent the modern continuation of this tradition. Perfect for Valentine“s Day, weddings, birthdays, or any other affair of the heart. This is luxury grade tea to fall in love with.

A testament to the world's most famous star-crossed lovers. The cup produced is tremendous — dark, with deep notes of wine and subtle earth, full body and medium-long finish. Best enjoyed in the company of someone special.

Tasting notes: A bold taste profile with deep red wine notes. Reminiscent of seasonal Keemun.
